Prof. Ing. arch. Eva Jiřičná
Eva Jiřičná is an architect of Czech origin, who has been working and living in London for more than 45 years, where she established her own studio – Eva Jiřičná Architects Limited. Together with Petr Vagner, she established the AI – DESIGN studio in Prague in 1999. Both studios provide comprehensive services including new proposals of both public and private buildings and public spaces, bridges, reconstructions, complete proposals of interiors, exhibitions, furniture and other unique items. The studios are leaders in the field of formal and technological innovation thanks to their sophisticated and carefully detailed proposals using traditional materials – glass, steel, and stone.
Eva Jiřičná and her colleagues’ design approach is characterised by its ease, its brightness and respect to the material. The studios’ clients include major corporations and institutions from around the world, such as AMEC PLC, Selfridges, Harrods, Boodle & Dunthorne, Prague Castle, the Royal Academy of Arts, Karel Schwarzenberg, Victoria and Albert Museum, Sekyra Group, the British Council, Tomas Bata University in Zlin, the city Zlin and others. Her studios have won numerous international awards for design and their work is regularly published in journals and books around the world. Eva Jiřičná has earned awards for her personal approach in the fields of Architecture and Design – she has been awarded the title Royal Designer for Industry, the Order of the British Empire for design, was elected a fellow at the Royal Academy of the Arts and listed in the American Hall of Fame. She has been awarded honourable doctorates at several universities (for example, Southampton Institute, VUT Brno, University of Sheffield, VŠUP Prague). She was elected chairwoman of the Architectural Association in London. She works in international juries in architectural competitions and frequently lectures about her work around the world.
Marie Passburg started working at Skanska in 2001. In her previous position, she led a team specializing in structural financial solutions at Skanska Financial Services. She has brought extensive experience from various positions at Skanska, especially from Nordic countries, the United Kingdom and Central and Eastern Europe to the Czech Republic. In 2012, Mary was appointed Managing Director of Skanska Property Czech Republic, which is the leader in developing sustainable and innovative office buildings. Marie is responsible for managing the Czech branch and its projects, including land acquisitions, developing office buildings and leasing and selling projects in the final stage. Besides working at Skanska, Marie is also Vice President of the Nordic Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic and has been involved in numerous activities within the social sphere, where she and her team are involved in actively influencing their community.
Biljana Weber has been the CEO of Microsoft in the Czech Republic since 2013. She studied Business Economics at the University of Sarajevo and at the Open University School in the UK, where she gained an MBA. She has extensive experience from IBM, where she held various leadership positions in Central and Eastern Europe from 1992. She came to the Czech Republic from the Slovenian branch of Microsoft, where she has been CEO since 2010. She received the prestigious Chairman Award for her achievements.
Richard Curran, Managing Director of CBRE Czech Republic, takes part in the jury from the beginning of the competition. He is the veritable star on the Czech real estate market. He joined CBRE in 2004 and took the helm in 2008. During his tenure, CBRE has grown from 35 employees to nearly 370. His eighteen years of experience in the Czech market was put to use first in the field of office rentals and currently is focused on capital markets and investment advice and developing clients, such as Skanska, AIG Lincoln, Morgan Stanley, DEKA, Heitman and others.
Tomáš Jindříšek is the managing partner and co-founder of the Dark Side agency. Previously, he spent ten years as Director of OgilvyInteractive, the Internet division of the international advertising network Ogilvy. Tomáš is also Chairman of the Association of Direct Marketing, E-commerce and Mail Order Businesses. He has devoted himself to marketing communication and the Internet in his professional life since 1998, regularly lecturing and publishing, serving as a member of many professional juries and is actively involved in projects for major brands. He conceived the Boardroom of the Year project and co-authored the Ceskovdatech.cz project. He is also a certified coach by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). His hobby is to help the public-service sector, including acting as chairman of the Jahoda NGO and is a co-founder of the non-profit crowd-funding portal NGOs Darujspravne.cz.
Pavel Maurer is the founder and publisher of the only independent guide to domestic restaurants, named Maurer‘s Choice Grand Restaurant. He has organized the prestigious gastronomical event, the Prague Food Festival, since 2007. He studied journalism at Charles University, and among other activities, served as the creative director of the Young & Rubicam agency and as a New Business Director in Ogilvy & Mather. He has published several publications, among the most famous being Hedgehog in the Cage and Don’t Eat Stupidly. At present, he is mainly devoted to astronomical activities and lecturing in Marketing Communication at FAMU.
Jiří Tourek has been the CEO of Philips Lighting since 1992 and a business leader with a focus on change management and innovation. In professional markets, he is primarily committed to implementing new solutions that are unique to the customer and can bring improvements to his existing business model. He graduated from the University of Economics in Prague and University College in Dublin with a focus on business and marketing.
